Just bought and downloaded the app and it wont even start. How do I get a refund.
but it cant edit plain text files
i needed in a hurry to make a presentation, never used anything other than windows word on computer, this was easy and quick to learn, except for positioning the pictures, but mayby it s just me.
I tried several other google doc editing apps. I like the balance of simplicity and features this one provides. The editing window is clean and simple. I love the one row of text formatting options above the keyboard, which makes so much more sense than having it way up at the top of the screen, especially if youre holding the iPad and typing with your thumbs. I found one bug which I notified the developer of. The one major improvement it needs is a better google docs browser. Currently, it simply lists all your docs in a long list. I have a lot of folders to organize my docs so this does not work for me. Im just dealing with it right now, but I strongly encouraged the developer to redesign this, as well as making it possible to do some file management from within the app, including sharing options. If that were changed, this would easily be a 5 star app. Hopefully updates will be forthcoming.
Im really hoping the developers of this app are working on the many many bugs that exist in this app. I would love to be using this. But as it stands its very unreliable and quirky. Browsing a hyper link for example renders the app unusable, and there is no way to get back to the document you were editing. The heading and paragraph style button does nothing, and it can only browse your most recent google docs with no easy way to organize by folders or browse folders. Also, it only saves the document every 5 minutes and apparently doesnt auto save on close which means Ive lost my work a few times trying to open it on the web instead of in this app. In short its not ready for prime time yet. But I hope they will release updates to fix it, because an app to edit google docs on my ipad that includes true google doc style and the handy extra keyboard row is awesome.
